Wan Khao Pansa
Yesterday we celebrated Wan Khao Pansa, the start of Vassa (the same for rains retreat or rains residence or Buddhist Lent). Well, the rains have definitely come early this year.

Rainy Season
Rainy season has started, as a result we can enjoy spectacular skies -almost- on a daily basis.
This is Patuxai area in Vientiane yesterday evening. Every night Laotians come here for a stroll or jogging. They didn't see the rain coming...
It started raining three hours later (that's why falang always get wet when it rains and locals aren't). Maybe they did look at the sky after all.

Action Packed Weekend
Last weekend was action packed. How much can you do in just one weekend? A lot!
After a nice drive and scrumptious pîng kai with noodle soop for lunch, we had a full day at Boun Bang Fai (rocket festival) in Ban Keun.
Next morning we enjoyed the swimmingpool at Vansana and visited Ang Nam Ngum in the afternoon (+lunch+boat trip). For dinner we had some of the best grilled fish ever at a karaoke restaurant in Ban Keun.
The next day, after a morning-dip-in-the-pool, we went to the Lao Zoo and in the afternoon we explored the mountains of Phu Khao Khuay NPA and visited Nam Mang 3 hydro power plant.
